Our inn offers suspense- and fun-filled Murder Mystery Weekends where guests assume the roles of suspects, murderers even victims and everyone plays detective. You’ve always wanted to find out “who dunnit”, so come and find out. Maybe it will be you!

Memorial Day Weekend
Competing for the Grand Prize of $1,000, teammates will travel by foot and by car in this fierce and exciting road rally. The race will take teams throughout the Town of Dover and areas north, south, east and west in Southern Vermont. As with the popular tv show, teams will compete in fun, thrilling but mentally and physically challenging events along the way. At the end of the race, enjoy the
Finish Line BBQ. All are welcome. Enjoy a good 'ol BBQ with burgers and hot dogs out on the Matterhorn Inn lawn as we watch the competitors finish their race!

Blueberry Festival
July 30-August 8
Berries, vintage cars, music, food and tarp displays; if it’s blue, it’s probably happening in the Mount Snow area towns of Wilmington, Whitingham and Dover in late July and early August. Visitors to the Valley will find a Big Blue Parade, a Blue Street Fair, children’s activities, jam making, blueberry themed specials in the local eateries, blue music events, a blue car auto show, blueberry bake sales, blue beer, special “Blues fees” at Mount Snow’s Golf Course as well as pick your own blueberry opportunities.
Don’t miss Boyd Farm's “Fields of Blue” public art display. Inspired by Christo and Jean-Claude’s Central Park orange canvas display “The Gates”; Vermont farmers Janet and Buck Boyd’s display of blue tarps in their fields will have you chuckling.
And, on Sat, July 31st at 11:00am is the fun filled parade that highlights “All Things Blue and Agricultural” Dancing Blueberries, Farm Tractors, Themed Floats and Musical Ensembles. Join us for this colorful, unique, blueberry inspired extravaganza!

MountSnow Triathlon
August 7-8
Women, men and teams are welcome to this beginner friendly triathlon that features a swim in Snow Lake, a 12 mile bike ride on Handle Rd and a run through the Mount Snow property.
This event has been created with the beginner tri-athlete in mind. Saturday features registration, coaching seminars and an expo. Sunday is race day followed by an awards ceremony. Click here for more information.

The Deerfield Valley Farmers’ Day Fair, supported by the Dover Economic Development Committee, is a long standing local tradition which inspires neighborly competition, education in agriculture, wholesome entertainment, exhibits of area residents, and most importantly good clean fun! Events for 2010 include a Children’s Lawnmower Pull, Truck Pull, Ox Pull, Horse Draw/Horse Pull, Horse Show, Classic Car Show, Children’s Games including a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Scavenger Hunt, Country Jam Session, Cattle Show, Children’s Barnyard/Petting Farm, Farmer for A Day, Pee Wee Midway, Pie Eating Contest, Youth and Adult Exhibits, Agricultural Demonstrations, and so much more! 2nd Annual Vermont Blues Festival

Mount Snow is proud to announce the lineup for the 2nd Vermont Blues Festival. This year features 3 days of music on 2 stages, 13 National Acts representing the full spectrum of the blues. The weekend is jam packed with performances!
Harrison Kennedy and Julian Fauth, James Armstrong,Alexis P Suter, Andrew Jr. Boy Jones, Ryan Shaw, Ruthie Foster, Trombone Shorty, Johnny Winter,Big James Montgomery,Teeny Tucker,Joe Louis Walker,Marcia Ball,and Kenny Neal are all lined up to perform at various times throughout the weekend! First performance begins Friday evening at 7:30pm.

16th Annual Brewers Festival
September 4 – 5
The annual tribute to summer and its finest elixir – beer! The Mount Snow Brewers Festival has become famous with great beer, great music, huge crowds, and good times. This year will be no different as we expect to host well over 20 breweries.
Saturday & Sunday, festival hours are 12pm – 6pm for our 16th annual festival. All paid 21+ adult entries receive a one of a kind souvenir pint glass and a free beer on Mount Snow. Tokens can be purchased for $2 after that and are good for an 8 oz sample of well over 60 different kinds of brews including stouts, ales, hefeweizens, porters, and for you non-beer lovers cider.
While enjoying your favorite elixirs take part in the 32-team Horseshoe Tournament both days or hang out underneath our 100′ event tent with live music both days. Past performances have included Strangefolk, Entrain, One Jack Move, The Joshua Tree, One Sweet World, and many others. Live performances will be booked soon so stay tuned.

The Deerfield Valley of Southern Vermont is home to many delicious restaurants. This unique event brings over a dozen restaurants together who will be offering a "taste" of their menu.
Celebrity Chef Demonstrations
NEW THIS YEAR Three-time World BBQ Champion and star of TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters Myron Mixon will be joining this year’s event demonstrating his BBQ skills with a private lesson and dinner on Friday night and a BBQ demonstration on Saturday morning.
Former New England Culinary Institute executive chef, TV host and owner of Cafe Province in Brandon, VT, Chef Robert Barral and the Deerfield Valley’s award-winning Jr Iron Chefs will also do a demonstration on Saturday morning. A portion of the proceeds of the entire event will go to the Junior Iron Chef program. The Deerfield Valley Food Pantry will also be on-hand accepting food donations.
Art on the Mountain
Also new this year, the Taste is teaming up with the Deerfield Valley Health Care Volunteers as they revive the popular “Art on the Mountain” with a 3-day art show at Mount Snow. Taste attendees will enjoy complimentary admission to the show.
Best Dam Walk
The following day, Sunday, September 12, the Deerfield Valley Community Cares is organizing the Best Dam Walk —a great way to walk off any indulging at the Taste. There are several walks available. The one-way walk is the most appropriate for families and will begin at 10am. Each entering adult will be asked to have $50 worth of sponsors (five people at $10 each or any other combination) and each child under 12 will be asked to have $10 worth of sponsors. 3rd Annual Vermont Life
Wine & Harvest Festival
September 24 – 26
From gourmet cheese and wine to specialty items crafted by local artisans, come celebrate the rich uniqueness, quality and ingenuity of Vermont producers at the third annual Vermont Life Wine and Harvest Festival in the Mount Snow Valley.
The Festival, held during the last weekend of September, showcases Vermont wineries & cheese makers, food vendors, local crafters & artists, and features a number of wine pairing events. It is one of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce’s picks as a Top 10 Fall Event for 2010.
The 2010 weekend long festival will feature additional authentic Vermont experiences including a historic downtown Wilmington welcome reception, Indigenous Vermonter breakfasts, a series of wine pairing dinners at the finest eateries in the area and a series of Vermont chef demonstrations. Set in the backdrop of the world renowned Vermont fall foliage; attendees will discover, savor and enjoy Vermont vintners, small specialty food producers, painters, publishers, cheese makers, potters, jewelers, chefs, photographers and farmers.
